From 3rd to 5th of June 2018, the ECSA Conference 2018 and the general assembly of the European Citizen Science Association takes place in Geneva, Switzerland. As members of ECSA and platform for Citizen Science Apps we for sure take part during the whole time.
We will be present with an indoor "market stand" and we will also hold one of the dialog session in the session "Data, Quality and Open Science". If you are interested in what SPOTTERON can do for Citizen Science and how the extensive feature ecosystem of the SPOTTERON Citizen Science plattform came all together, please join us at the conference and let's have a talk.
As designers for Citizen Science, we are also happy to take a look at your exisiting Citizen Science projects and share advice or exchange knowhow about interface design, media and how practical design methods can improve motivation, reach and data quality. We also bring a bag full of tools and devices - from smartphones and tablets where you can see Citizen Science Apps, which run on the SPOTTERON platform, live in action to USB microscopes and smartphone lenses for tryout.
We plan to do a daily blog with pictures and video impressions during the conference, so stay tuned and best follow us on twitter, instagram for updates or check back here at the SPOTTERON Citizen Science Blog for the episodes! If you want to have your own Citizen Science Project featured or take an interview, please drop us an eMail @ office@spotteron.net - we are happy to support Citizen Science and create one of our "Let's meet Citizen Science" Short Interview Clips for you!
You can find the episodes of the "Let's meet Citizen Science" series on our SPOTTERON Citizen Science YouTube Channel, and here are two examples:
Speaking of projects - there are also presentations, session talks and showcases of more Citizen Science project apps during the conference. You can visit the national hubs for Citizen Science "Österreich forscht" and "Schweiz forscht", both designed and developed by our webdesign for science team, or projects like "Crowdwater, "Nature's Calendar" or "Roadkill", which are also participating at the conference.
The Conference takes place in the heart of Geneva in the historic Maison Communale de Plainpalais building, which was built in the beginning of the 20th century. You can admire its architecture and wall paintings by Edmond Ravel.
