As you can tell from the english name for the project, Anslagstavlan means "Public Boards". And as you can tell from that name, Anslagstavlan was all about pictures of such notice boards, bulletin boards and measures of public communication in public spaces. This allowed for the creation of scientific studies, while also documenting a piece of contemporary culture.
This collaboration between Vetenskap och Allmänhet (Science and general public), the University of Gothenburg, University of Stockholm and the European Researcher's Night resulted in a collection of more than 1500 pictures of public boards from all over Europa and some cases even the world. This community generated collection enabled the scientists to research how public boards, pictures and languag are used for spreading information. The project even won the Open Knowledge Award.
